Federal Cabinet Receives Over Rs400 Million in Salaries and Perks; Punjab Doubles Protocol Allowances

Islamabad: Official documents have revealed that federal ministers, ministers of state, advisers, and special assistants have received more than Rs407 million in salaries and allowances during the current fiscal year.
According to the records, members of the federal cabinet and allied officials have so far drawn Rs407.216 million in pay and perks, out of a total allocated budget of Rs688.727 million for the year.
The documents further show that over Rs266.4 million has been spent on fuel and maintenance of more than 100 vehicles used by ministers, advisers, and special assistants.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Government has approved a significant increase in benefits for protocol staff. The provincial cabinet has sanctioned a 100 percent increase in the special protocol allowance, making it equal to employees’ basic salaries.
Officials stated that the move is intended to provide relief to personnel performing protocol duties and to improve their performance. A formal notification regarding the increase is expected to be issued soon.
