President Zardari Calls High-Level Meeting on Middle East Crisis and Pakistan’s Mediation Efforts

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has convened an important high-level meeting today to review the evolving situation in the Middle East and Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

The meeting is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, senior federal ministers, top military leadership, and chief ministers of all four provinces.

According to sources, the session—chaired by Asif Ali Zardari—will include a detailed assessment of the escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly focusing on the ongoing conflict involving Iran, United States, and Israel, as well as recent diplomatic and military developments.

The impact of attacks on Gulf countries and the resulting regional instability will also be discussed. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to brief participants on the recent four-nation foreign ministers’ meeting and ongoing diplomatic engagements.

The agenda will further include a review of Pakistan’s petroleum reserves and supply mechanisms, alongside an evaluation of the government’s austerity measures and their implementation.

Sources added that key decisions are also expected regarding relief measures for inflation-affected segments, including potential subsidies for motorcycle and rickshaw drivers.
