Terror Attacks, Security Operations, and Accidents in Balochistan: 5 Civilians, 7 Militants Killed, 15 Injured

Balochistan (Daily Qudrat Quetta): A series of terrorist attacks, security operations, and traffic accidents in Balochistan have resulted in multiple casualties, including the deaths of five civilians and seven militants, while 15 others sustained injuries.

In Panjgur, armed assailants targeted several areas, leading to intense firing and explosions. Security forces responded promptly, killing seven militants and preventing a major attempt to terrorize local communities. The attacks targeted homes in Khudabad, Garmkan, and Chatkan, causing property damage and widespread fear among residents.

During the operations, security forces recovered 24 kilograms of explosives, foreign weapons, and large quantities of ammunition, including a machine gun, M16 rifles, RPG-7, SPG-9, and UGL. Anti-terrorist booklets and a used vehicle were also seized, averting a potential large-scale massacre.

In Quetta, separate incidents included a gunfire attack on a police check post that injured one officer, a grenade attack in Akhtarabad causing no casualties, and a bomb attack on a security camp near Saryab Road, leaving three personnel wounded.

In Harnai, a man was killed in a shooting incident, while in Kech, a young girl was abducted by a gang demanding a ransom of PKR 50 million. The provincial government has taken notice and ordered immediate action for her safe recovery.

Tribal tensions in Nasirabad’s Fleji region resulted in heavy firing between the Sawand and Kehiri tribes, causing damage to a solar tube well and other machinery.

Traffic accidents also contributed to casualties. In Dera Murad Jamali and Sohbatpur, a child was killed and several others injured, while a severe collision near Nokundi left three youths critically wounded.

In Surab, security forces foiled a major sabotage plot by recovering over 320 kilograms of explosives installed under a bridge.

Authorities emphasized that coordinated and timely action by security agencies successfully thwarted terrorist plots and safeguarded civilians across the province. Further operations are ongoing to track down remaining perpetrators.
