Domestic Worker Kills Employer Over Dispute on Gold and Cash in India

Gujarat: A domestic worker has been arrested for allegedly killing her employer after being asked to return borrowed gold and cash in Gujarat, Indian media reported.
The incident took place in the Palanpur area, where the accused, Rekha Rathore, had been working for nearly 15 years with the victim, Shanti Ben, and her family.
According to police, Rekha developed a close relationship with her employer over the years. She later started a furniture business, for which Shanti had reportedly lent her a significant amount of gold jewelry and cash about a year ago to support the venture.
Authorities said that when Shanti demanded the return of her money and valuables, Rekha allegedly plotted her murder. She reportedly lured Shanti to her furniture shop, where she, along with four accomplices, intoxicated and killed her.
The case came to light after Shanti’s family reported her missing. During the investigation, police discovered that the victim had been murdered and her body was placed in a sack and dumped in the basement of the showroom.
Police have arrested Rekha and her accomplices, and legal proceedings are currently underway against them.
