U.S. Deploys USS Tripoli to Middle East as Reports Warn of Escalating Conflict with Iran

Washington: A report by The Washington Post has claimed that the Pentagon has completed preparations for a potential ground operation against Iran, signaling what could be the most dangerous phase of the ongoing conflict.

According to the report, the operation—if approved by President Donald Trump—may be limited in scope rather than a full-scale invasion, but would target Iran’s key strategic sites. Among the options under consideration are seizing the vital oil export hub at Kharg Island and launching direct strikes on coastal areas along the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the United States has significantly reinforced its military presence in the region. The amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli has arrived in Middle Eastern waters, carrying more than 3,500 U.S. Marines and military personnel.

Defense sources say the vessel is equipped with advanced stealth fighter jets, modern military systems, and heavy weaponry, enabling it to launch rapid operations along coastal مناطق. Analysts believe this major deployment of ground and naval forces could push tensions between the U.S. and Iran to a critical peak, with potentially far-reaching consequences for the entire region.
