Balochistan Expands Digital Governance; Summary Digitisation Begins After E-Filing in 28 Departments

QUETTA: Balochistan has expanded its digital governance initiative, with more than 183,000 electronic files processed across 28 government departments and the digitisation of official summaries now underway to accelerate decision-making and improve transparency.
The progress was reviewed at an important meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, focusing on improving public service delivery, introducing digital reforms and modernising administrative operations across the province.
The meeting was informed that more than 183,000 e-files had been processed under the e-filing system introduced in 28 government departments. The digitisation of official summaries has also begun to make government affairs more efficient, transparent and conducive to timely decision-making.
In the initial phase, the process of transferring summaries to the digital system has been launched in 10 government departments.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed all relevant departments to accelerate the transition to modern digital systems and ensure that their responsibilities were carried out effectively.
He stressed that eliminating unnecessary delays in official matters and ensuring timely decisions were essential to making administrative processes more efficient and result-oriented.
The chief minister said digital governance was not merely about adopting technology but also an effective means of promoting transparency, efficiency and accountability within the government system.
He added that the effective use of modern technology would improve administrative performance and enable the government to provide better and more timely services to the public.
Bugti said replacing traditional procedures with efficient, modern digital systems had become essential for improving government performance.
He noted that digitising official files and summaries would help speed up decision-making, reduce unnecessary delays and strengthen the monitoring of government affairs.
The chief minister also directed all relevant departments to ensure effective coordination and cooperation throughout the digitisation process so that the reform initiatives could progress in line with established targets.
Reaffirming his commitment to administrative reform, Bugti said the provincial government would continue to use modern technology to build a more transparent, efficient and responsive administrative system that better meets public needs.
