Shoaib Malik Shares Humorous Story of Facing Usman Tariq for the First Time
Islamabad: Former Pakistan cricket captain and commentator Shoaib Malik shared a funny incident from when he first faced spinner Usman Tariq.
During the second match of PSL 11, Usman Tariq bowled his first over against Azam Khan, conceding 11 runs including a six. In the commentary box, Bazid Khan asked Shoaib Malik how difficult it was to face Usman Tariq when he bowled for the first time.
Shoaib Malik recalled that he and Pollard were playing for Karachi Kings at the time. “When we faced him for the first time, both of us couldn’t help but laugh at his bowling action,” he said.
He added that Pollard advised him to only get ready to play the ball when the bowler reached the pause in his action, highlighting the unique timing required to face Usman Tariq effectively.
