Punjab to Observe Earth Hour on March 28, Lights to Be Switched Off at 8:30 PM

Lahore: Maryam Nawaz has announced that Punjab will observe Earth Hour on March 28, urging citizens to actively participate in the international initiative aimed at promoting energy conservation and environmental protection.
According to official details, lights across the province will be turned off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM as part of the campaign. The move is intended to raise awareness about efficient energy use and the importance of protecting the environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure a clean and safe environment for future generations. She called on the public, especially youth, to take part enthusiastically in the campaign.
The provincial government has appointed the Secretary Environment as the focal person to ensure effective implementation of the initiative, while Marriyum Aurangzeb has been tasked with overseeing Earth Hour activities across the province.
The Chief Minister also praised the efforts of World Wide Fund for Nature for its role in promoting environmental awareness globally.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement that encourages individuals, communities, and institutions to turn off non-essential lights for one hour to highlight the need to reduce energy waste and combat climate change, ensuring a better future for coming generations.
