Pakistani Citizen Killed in Abu Dhabi Missile Incident, Embassy Confirms

Abu Dhabi: A Pakistani national was among the two people killed when debris from a ballistic missile struck the Sweihan area of Abu Dhabi, officials confirmed on March 26, 2026. The Pakistani Embassy in the UAE expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

According to the embassy, one of the deceased victims was a Pakistani citizen. Authorities have been in contact with the family to provide support, and the embassy assured that the Government of Pakistan stands with them during this difficult time.

Diplomatic Efforts for Repatriation:
Pakistani Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan stated that he is coordinating closely with UAE officials to gather full details of the incident. Priority has been given to repatriating the deceased citizen’s body to Pakistan as soon as all legal and procedural requirements are completed, and necessary measures for safe transfer have already been initiated.

The incident occurred early in the morning when the UAE’s air defense system successfully destroyed a ballistic missile mid-air. However, large debris fell onto the populated Sweihan area and surrounding roads, causing fatalities and injuries. In total, two people were killed and three others were injured, while several vehicles were damaged.

The embassy and Pakistani community in the UAE are praying for the speedy recovery of the injured and have urged Pakistanis residing in the UAE to follow local authorities’ guidance and take precautions.
