Saudi Arabia Thwarts Major Drone and Missile Attack, Vows Strong Response

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s air defense systems have successfully intercepted a large-scale aerial attack amid ongoing tensions with Iran, marking a significant escalation in regional security concerns.

According to officials, around 30 hostile drones heading toward the Kingdom’s eastern province were destroyed mid-air. In addition, an attempt to target the capital, Riyadh, with three ballistic missiles was foiled—one missile was intercepted, while the remaining two landed in uninhabited areas without causing casualties. Authorities also confirmed that seven more drones were neutralized over the eastern region.

The Saudi government, invoking Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, reaffirmed its right to self-defense and declared that it would take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and citizens. Officials emphasized that any act of aggression would be met with a decisive response.

Following the incident, security alert levels have been heightened across the Middle East, reflecting growing fears of further escalation in the region.
