Nine-Member Gang Arrested in Steel Mill Theft Crackdown in Karachi

Karachi: Police in Karachi have arrested a nine-member gang involved in large-scale theft of iron and copper from Pakistan Steel Mills during a late-night crackdown in the Bin Qasim area.
According to a spokesperson for Malir Police, the operation was carried out between Monday and Tuesday near the steel mills following repeated reports of valuable scrap theft. Acting swiftly, police apprehended the suspects identified as Ramiz, Jahangir, Wali Khan, Anoush, Salman, Waqas, Nasir, Yaseen, and Ijaz.
Authorities also recovered more than 80 kilograms of stolen copper wire from the suspects’ possession.
Officials stated that the gang was involved in multiple incidents of scrap theft from the steel mill and used to sell the stolen material to various warehouses.
Police have registered cases against the accused and launched further investigations, while efforts are underway to apprehend other accomplices linked to the group.
