Faisal Vawda Calls on Ishaq Dar to Resign Over Allegations Involving Relative

ISLAMABAD:Pakistani Senator Faisal Vawda has called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to resign following allegations involving his reported relative, Raza Dar.

In a post on X, Vawda criticized the government, alleging that Pakistan was being run like a “family corporation.” He claimed that Raza Dar is facing allegations involving the rape, assault, and extortion of foreign women who had reportedly been invited to Pakistan.

Vawda further alleged that the suspect was arrested only after the intervention of a foreign embassy and accused the government of attempting to suppress the case.

He also claimed that efforts were being made to limit the case to extortion charges rather than allegations of sexual assault and alleged that arrangements were underway for the foreign women to leave the country. Vawda questioned why the victims’ statements recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code had not been made public and expressed concerns about the handling of medical reports.

The senator further criticized Pakistan’s political leadership, alleging that a small elite controls the country’s political system. He also said no major political party, whether in government or opposition, had issued a statement condemning the alleged incident.

Concluding his statement, Vawda urged Ishaq Dar to step down, arguing that doing so would help protect Pakistan’s international image.
