Pakistan Provides Relief to Citizens Despite Global Fuel Price Surge

Islamabad: Despite a sharp increase in global oil prices, the Government of Pakistan has taken measures to minimize the burden on the public.

According to details, rising tensions in the region due to the Iran conflict have pushed international oil prices significantly higher. However, Pakistan has adopted a cautious approach to protect consumers from the full impact.

The Ministry of Finance stated that while global fuel prices increased by 27% to 71%, the rise in Pakistan was limited to 22% to 24%.

It further added that the tax rate has been maintained at 25%, which is lower than the regional average of 35%. Additionally, the government has kept the sales tax on petrol and diesel at 0%.

These steps, the ministry emphasized, are aimed at maintaining a balance between financial stability and public relief.
