PTI Leader Sohail Afridi Slams Government, Calls for Public Resistance at Pishin Rally

Pishin / Quetta: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sohail Afridi delivered a fiery speech at an opposition alliance rally in Pishin, strongly criticizing the government and state institutions while calling for public resistance against what he termed “imposed decisions.”

Addressing the gathering organized by the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Afridi said that the vision of the Lahore Resolution—which promised democracy, constitutional supremacy, and public rule—has yet to be realized.

He alleged that the country remains under indirect control, claiming that past rulers served foreign powers and that current leadership continues the same pattern. “A leader who salutes a foreign president cannot represent us,” he said, rejecting the legitimacy of the current prime minister.

Afridi also accused authorities of manipulating electoral mandates across the country, stating that governments in multiple provinces and at the federal level were “imposed,” while asserting that the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reflects the true will of the people.

He raised serious allegations regarding human rights, claiming that people in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are facing repression and injustice. He criticized the ruling elite for ignoring public issues while focusing on personal wealth and assets abroad.

Warning of public backlash, Afridi stated that citizens will no longer remain silent and will resist any policies made “behind closed doors” that do not serve public interests.

He also expressed strong support for Imran Khan, calling him the only true national leader and a symbol of unity. Afridi demanded his immediate release, stating that PTI supporters will continue their struggle for what he described as “real freedom” until the end.
