Australia Becomes First Country to Ban Social Media Use for Children Under 16

Sydney (Qudrat Daily) — Australia has imposed a nationwide ban on social media use for children under 16, becoming the first country in the world to enforce such a restriction.
According to international media reports, millions of accounts belonging to minors on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and other social media networks have been shut down under the new regulation.
Authorities stated that companies violating the ban could face fines exceeding 33 million dollars.
The Australian government said the decision aims to protect children from online harms, harassment, and mental health risks linked to social media use.
