PTA Grants Approval for Launch of 5G Services in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially allowed telecom companies to roll out 5G services in the country, marking a significant step toward introducing advanced telecommunications technology.
Under this initiative, mobile operators Jazz, Ufone, and Zong have been issued 5G licenses. The PTA confirmed that 5G services will be launched gradually and initially will be available only in select, limited areas.
Telecom companies have been instructed to publish a list of areas on their websites where 5G coverage will be available. The service will operate only on mobile phones compatible with 5G technology, and its performance will depend on network strength and area coverage.
The PTA has advised consumers to enable 5G settings on their devices and keep their mobile software updated to ensure optimal performance. The authority emphasized its commitment to bringing advanced 5G technology to Pakistan and promoting the country’s digital transformation.
