Business Leaders Meet Field Marshal Asim Munir, Briefed on National Economy

Rawalpindi: Field Marshal General Asim Munir held a meeting with prominent business figures from across the country, where they provided a detailed briefing on the state of the national economy.
According to sources, the delegation, led by former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ejaz, included key business leaders such as Kamran Arshad, Chairman of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), SM Tanveer, and others. The President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and the President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) were also present at the meeting.
Gohar Ejaz revealed that the discussion focused on the current economic conditions of the country, with particular emphasis on stabilizing the economy. He stated that the business community is supporting the government’s economic policies, and emphasized the need to create business-friendly reforms for further economic stabilization.
Ejaz highlighted the importance of adjusting interest rates in line with inflation and addressing the concerns of the business community regarding the federal budget. He also urged the government to prioritize export-led growth, fulfill commitments made during the budget speech, and protect the interests of local cotton farmers.
The meeting underscored the commitment to building a robust economy and fostering collaboration between the business community and the government to promote economic growth and sustainability.
