Eid-ul-Fitr to Be Celebrated on March 21 in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Bangladesh

Malaysia / Bangladesh / Indonesia: Authorities in Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Indonesia have announced that Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Saturday, March 21, after the Shawwal moon was not sighted.
According to official statements, moon sighting committees in all three countries confirmed that the crescent was not visible, leading to the decision to complete 30 days of Ramadan.
Malaysian media reported that Eid will be celebrated nationwide on March 21, while Bangladesh’s moon sighting committee also issued a similar announcement confirming the same date. Indonesian authorities likewise declared that the Shawwal moon was not sighted, aligning the country’s Eid celebrations with the same day.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is currently underway to sight the Shawwal moon. The session is being chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, with an official announcement expected after the meeting concludes.
