Residents in Peshawar Area Celebrate Eid Before Saudi Arabia

Peshawar: Residents of Safed Sang area in Peshawar celebrated Eid ul-Fitr ahead of Saudi Arabia, offering Eid prayers and exchanging greetings among themselves.

According to reports, locals gathered at a neighborhood mosque where they performed Eid prayers and extended congratulations to one another, marking the festival earlier than the official announcement in most parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the Bohra community across Pakistan also celebrated Eid with religious enthusiasm. The largest congregation was held at Taheri Mosque in the Saddar area of Karachi, where a large number of community members offered Eid prayers.

Additional prayer gatherings were organized in areas including Pan Mandi, Soldier Bazaar, Baloch Colony, and Hyderi. Worshippers prayed for the country’s peace, stability, and prosperity, as well as for an end to terrorism and continued national development.

Strict security arrangements were put in place by the Sindh government during the congregations to ensure safety.

Reports also indicate that Afghanistan is celebrating Eid today, while Saudi Arabia did not sight the Shawwal moon and is expected to observe Eid on Friday.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet in Islamabad to review moon sighting testimonies and officially announce the date of Eid ul-Fitr in Pakistan.
