US Aircraft Carrier Gerald R. Ford Withdraws Amid Regional Tensions with Iran

The United States aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford has reportedly departed from its operational area and is heading back to port amid ongoing regional tensions involving Iran, according to international media reports.
Sources indicate that the vessel recently experienced a significant onboard incident, where a fire broke out in its main laundry area. The blaze reportedly took over 30 hours to bring under control, leaving two US personnel injured. However, officials confirmed that the ship’s engine and critical systems remained unaffected.
Due to the fire, more than 600 crew members were temporarily displaced from their living quarters. The aircraft carrier, one of the largest in the US Navy fleet, carries approximately 4,500 personnel.
The development comes at a time of heightened tensions in the region, with increased scrutiny on US naval movements and strategic positioning. The withdrawal of such a key asset is likely to be closely monitored amid the evolving security situation.
