Eid-ul-Fitr Prayers in UAE Restricted to Mosques Amid Regional Tensions

Dubai / Abu Dhabi: Due to rising regional tensions, authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have announced that this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be held exclusively inside mosques, with traditional open-air Eid gatherings and large outdoor congregations suspended.

The decision was issued by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Awqaf and Zakat and will apply nationwide. Officials stated that the move aims to ensure organized prayer arrangements while prioritizing public safety. Mosques across the UAE have been prepared to accommodate worshippers in accordance with these guidelines.

In statements published in local media, the authority urged citizens and residents to follow official instructions and guidance issued by relevant authorities. The measure has been implemented in collaboration with Islamic affairs institutions to ensure a safe and orderly environment for Eid prayers.

This decision comes at a time when Eid gatherings are traditionally held on a large scale in open areas. However, this year, mosque-based arrangements have been prioritized to maintain security and public health.
