Senate Secretariat Clarifies Purchase of Vehicle for Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani

Islamabad: The Senate Secretariat has provided clarification regarding the vehicle purchased for Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani.

Confirming a report by Express News, the Secretariat stated that the payment for the vehicle was made in May 2025 from the previous fiscal year’s budget. The vehicle was delivered in March 2026.

According to the Secretariat spokesperson, the vehicle was part of a transparent fleet replacement plan carried out during the 2024–25 fiscal year. The plan also included replacing vehicles for the Chairpersons of Senate Standing Committees, the Deputy Chairman of the Senate, the Leader of the House, the Leader of the Opposition, and the Senate Secretariat itself.

The Secretariat emphasized that the procurement was part of an overall fleet modernization initiative and followed all standard procedures.
