Pakistan Accuses Afghan Taliban of Targeting Civilians in Bajaur Attack

Islamabad:The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan has said that a statement by the deputy spokesperson of the Afghan Taliban is a failed attempt to hide their “horrific actions.”
According to the ministry, Afghan Taliban forces deliberately targeted a civilian population in Bajaur District. The attack reportedly killed four innocent civilians and seriously injured a five-year-old child.
The ministry stated that operations conducted by the Pakistan Armed Forces inside Afghanistan are limited strictly to terrorist hideouts and do not target civilians.

Officials also rejected claims supported by AI-generated images and videos, saying Pakistan does not rely on such material. The ministry added that misinformation spread through official Taliban channels is exposing the group at both domestic and international levels.
The statement comes after a cross-border attack in Bajaur that resulted in the deaths of four civilians, further raising tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
