Heat Intensity Likely to Increase Further in Karachi, Says Meteorological Department

KARACHI — The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that the intensity of heat is expected to increase further in Karachi in the coming days.

According to the weather department, not only the daytime but also the nights in the city are becoming warmer. The temperature in Karachi may reach 38°C today, while the minimum temperature recorded overnight was 22.5°C.

The department reported that humidity levels are around 52 percent, with winds blowing from the east at a speed of 4 kilometers per hour.

Officials also noted that yesterday’s daytime temperature was 7°C higher than the normal average for March, while the night temperature was 3.7°C above the seasonal average.

Meanwhile, weather conditions in Quetta and surrounding areas remain dry and slightly cold, with partly cloudy skies. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the northern districts of Balochistan are experiencing cold and dry weather, while the southern districts are witnessing moderate conditions.

The department added that dry weather is expected to prevail in most districts of Balochistan today.
