PAA Employees to Face 50% Reduction in Monthly Fuel Allocation

Karachi: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has decided to cut employees’ monthly fuel allocation by 50 percent as part of a newly implemented austerity plan.
Under the plan, which will remain in effect for two months, PAA employees earning up to Rs 300,000 per month will also face a deduction of two days’ salary.
The PAA announcement further stated that purchases of new vehicles have been banned until June 2026, while official overseas trips and government-funded dinners will also be restricted.
All official meetings within the PAA, including at headquarters and airports, will now be conducted online, with only 50 percent of staff working on-site. Additionally, employees will follow a four-day workweek with three days off, and all PAA-run schools will remain closed from March 16 to March 31.
Essential service departments will continue to operate 24 hours per shift as usual. The Director of HR has officially issued the notification for the austerity plan.
