Mystery of ‘Devil-Shaped’ Statue in Karachi Shop Resolved

Police in Karachi have resolved the mystery surrounding a viral video showing a ‘devil-shaped’ statue found in a shop in the Mehran Town area.
The video circulating on social media prompted authorities from the Korangi Industrial Area police to take immediate action. Officers seized the statue from the shop and moved it to a police station for investigation.
According to police, the shopkeeper was not present during the raid. However, officers later detained the craftsman who had created the statue.
Investigators said the statue was made from thermocol and had been commissioned by a religious scholar for use during International Quds Day.
The shopkeeper, identified as Imran, reportedly told police that the statue had been prepared as part of a protest demonstration and was intended to be burned during a rally on Friday.
After recording the craftsman’s statement, police allowed him to leave. Authorities said the matter was clarified after the explanation was provided.
