Heavy Rain and Landslides Close Parts of Karakoram Highway in Upper Kohistan

Diamer:Heavy rainfall and landslides have led to the closure of multiple sections of the **Karakoram Highway** in Upper Kohistan.

Police reported that landslides between **Sazin** and **Dasu** have blocked traffic, while the area near **Minyar, Chilas** remains closed due to similar incidents.

The **Chilas to Gilgit section** is open for all traffic, but travelers have been stopped in Chilas and Lower Kohistan because of the highway closure. Cargo trucks are also stranded, causing long queues on the road. Efforts to reopen the highway are ongoing.

Meanwhile, intermittent rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms continues in **Swat**, **Shangla**, and **Buner**, with the Meteorological Department warning of potential flash floods.
