Actor Imad Irfani and Wife Maryam Shafaat Share Their Love Story

Renowned Pakistani actor Imad Irfani and his wife Maryam Shafaat recently shared the story of their long-lasting relationship during a Ramadan television transmission.

The couple appeared as guests on a private TV channel’s special Ramadan program, where they spoke about how their relationship began and evolved over the years.

Imad Irfani revealed that although the couple has been married for **18 years**, they have known each other since **March 7, 1996**. He said their first meeting took place in Lahore at a friend’s birthday party when they were only about **16 years old**.

He explained that at that time communication was limited mainly to telephone calls, so their conversations and friendship developed through phone calls after that initial meeting.

Maryam Shafaat shared that she was the one who made the first call because Imad was very shy. She recalled noticing something special about him at the birthday party.

“When I first saw Imad, I noticed that he didn’t look at any girls—maybe he didn’t even look at me,” she said, adding that she really liked this quality about him.

Imad Irfani added that when he was considering entering the entertainment industry, he was worried because of his shy personality and wondered how he would manage in showbiz.

He said Maryam encouraged him at that time and told him that his shyness was part of his personality and would eventually become his strength—a prediction that, according to him, turned out to be true.
