New Company Registrations Rise in Pakistan, Total Reaches 287,049

Karachi: The trend of increasing new company registrations in Pakistan continues, reflecting a gradual rise in economic activity across the country.
According to data released by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, 3,444 new companies were registered in February 2026, bringing the total number of registered companies in the country to 287,049.
The report states that 82 of the newly registered companies include foreign shareholding, while 44 companies have individuals from China serving as directors.
The SECP further noted that investors from several countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada, have invested in newly established companies. Foreign investors have mainly registered businesses in sectors such as mining, trading, and information technology.
During February, the highest number of company registrations was recorded in Punjab with 1,696 companies, followed by Islamabad with 656, and Sindh with 555 new registrations.
Sector-wise, the information technology and e-commerce sector led with 723 new companies, followed by trading with 531, services with 434, and real estate with 323 registrations. Companies were also registered in sectors including mining, textiles, education, healthcare, sports goods, cables, and electrical equipment.
Officials say the steady increase in company registrations indicates improving business confidence and expanding economic participation in Pakistan.
