Balochistan IG Meets Shia Scholars, Urges Vigilance Against Sectarianism and Miscreants

**Quetta:** Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir held an important meeting with Shia religious scholars and leaders of the Balochistan Shia Conference to discuss security concerns and the need for unity against sectarianism.
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by special prayers for the elevation of the ranks of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other leaders who were mentioned during the gathering.
During the meeting, the IG emphasized that in light of recent terrorist incidents, religious scholars must play a vital role by discouraging sectarianism, extremism, and elements attempting to create divisions in society through their sermons and religious gatherings. He said individuals involved in negative and disruptive activities have no place in Islam.
Muhammad Tahir warned that certain miscreants are attempting to destabilize society, stressing the need to remain vigilant against such elements. He noted that Balochistan Police are actively working not only to counter terrorism but also to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities.
The IG also instructed that religious processions should strictly follow the designated routes and conclude within the specified time to ensure public safety. He reaffirmed that the people of the province have historically played a positive role in promoting unity among different schools of thought and rejecting sectarian hatred.
He reiterated that no one will be allowed to spread religious hatred or create divisions, adding that the police, especially Balochistan Police and Quetta Police, remain committed to protecting citizens.
The meeting concluded with special prayers for the progress and stability of the country and the province, as well as for the martyrs of Balochistan Police and patience for their families.
