Pakistan Meteorological Department Forecasts New Spell of Thunderstorms and Rain

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued an alert forecasting a new spell of rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the country.
According to the department, rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected between March 6 and March 11 in areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.
During the same period, partly cloudy weather with chances of rain and thunderstorms is also expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
The department further stated that rainfall is also likely in Islamabad, the Pothohar Plateau, Murree, and the Galiyat along with surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, temperatures in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal. Similarly, temperatures in Sindh and Balochistan may rise by 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average.
