Mahmood Khan Achakzai Calls U.S. and Israel Attack on Iran “Terrorism Against a Sovereign State”

**Islamabad/Quetta:** Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, **Mahmood Khan Achakzai**, has strongly criticized the recent attacks on Iran, calling them terrorism against a free and sovereign nation. Speaking to journalists after the joint parliamentary session, Achakzai said that if Pakistan does not adopt a clear policy, the country risks being isolated on the international stage.

He condemned the U.S. and Israeli leadership, stating that the attacks, which targeted prominent figures in Iran, are unjustifiable acts of aggression. Achakzai emphasized that Pakistan should take a clear stance in the conflict between Iran and its opponents and that parliamentary resolutions should have explicitly held U.S. President **Donald Trump** and Israeli Prime Minister **Benjamin Netanyahu** accountable for the attacks.

Achakzai urged the government to brief lawmakers through a roundtable discussion or via intelligence agencies like **ISI**, highlighting the importance of clarity in foreign policy. He also noted that countries like China and Russia have publicly condemned the attacks, labeling them as terrorism against a sovereign nation.

Warning about the broader regional implications, Achakzai stressed that silence or indecision could leave Pakistan without allies if attacks occur on its own territory in the future. He criticized the lack of timely international diplomatic responses, including from the **OIC**, and expressed concern over the escalation of military operations that could involve more countries and potentially trigger a large-scale conflict.
