Saudi Arabia Rejects Washington Post Claim of Pushing US Toward War with Iran

Washington: Saudi Arabia has strongly rejected a report by The Washington Post alleging that the Kingdom encouraged the United States to take military action against Iran.

The Embassy of Saudi Arabia, Washington dismissed the newspaper’s claims that Saudi officials had urged former US President Donald Trump and his administration to adopt a confrontational policy toward Tehran.

According to the report, Saudi authorities allegedly pushed the Trump administration toward escalation with Iran. However, Saudi spokesperson Fahad Nazer refuted the claim in a statement posted on social media, describing the allegations as baseless.

Nazer stated that Saudi Arabia has consistently supported dialogue and diplomatic engagement with Iran. He emphasized that at no point did the Kingdom pressure the Trump administration to adopt an aggressive stance.

The Saudi embassy reiterated that the Kingdom seeks regional stability and favors diplomatic solutions over heightened tensions.
