Roads Sealed in Karachi After Reported Assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader

Authorities in Karachi have sealed multiple major roads by placing containers across key routes following reports of the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in an alleged attack involving the United States and Israel.
According to traffic police officials, the bridge leading from PIDC Chowk to MT Khan Road has been closed with containers. Another blockade has been placed at Sultanabad on MT Khan Road, effectively shutting down the route.
The road from Boat Basin to Mai Kolachi Bypass has also been sealed. Traffic authorities confirmed that MT Khan Road from PIDC to Mai Kolachi Road up to the railway crossing remains closed.
Meanwhile, on Shahrah-e-Faisal, the track from FTC to the Jinnah Hospital turn has been closed for traffic. Officials stated that Shahrah-e-Faisal has been blocked near FTC for general traffic, while the road from FTC to Metropole has also been sealed with barriers.
Vehicles heading toward FTC are being diverted via a U-turn at Gora Qabristan and redirected toward Saddar.
The closure of several major arteries has caused significant disruption for commuters, with long queues of vehicles reported across the city as office-goers struggle to reach their destinations.
