Major Turkmen Customs Operation Foils Silver Smuggling Worth Over PKR 4 Crore

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** Customs authorities at the Torkham border successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle silver from Afghanistan into Pakistan, seizing nearly 30 kilograms hidden inside a truck’s tire.

Officials reported that the truck was stopped during routine checks. During inspection, an unusually heavy tire raised suspicion. Upon opening it, authorities discovered silver pieces carefully concealed to avoid detection.

The seized silver is valued at approximately PKR 4.8 crore. One suspect was arrested at the scene, and a case has been registered with further investigations underway. Interrogation of the suspect is ongoing to trace other members of the smuggling network.

Customs officials confirmed that border inspections have been intensified to prevent illegal transfer of precious metals and other contraband. The recent operation is part of continued efforts to secure Pakistan’s border crossings.
