Fake Milk Mafia Busted During Ramadan, 13,000 Liters of Adulterated Milk Destroyed

Islamabad: In a major crackdown during the holy month of Ramadan, authorities have exposed a fake milk manufacturing ring and destroyed 13,000 liters of adulterated milk intended for sale in the twin cities.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Punjab Food Authority and the Islamabad Food Authority following a tip-off. Officials raided a house near Lehtrar Road where counterfeit milk was being produced.

According to a spokesperson, the adulterated milk was being prepared using milk powder and vegetable ghee and was planned to be supplied across Islamabad and Rawalpindi during Ramadan, when the demand for milk and yogurt significantly increases.

During the raid, authorities seized 480 kilograms of vegetable ghee, 50 kilograms of milk powder, and machinery used in the production of fake milk. The entire 13,000-liter mixture was destroyed on the spot.

Officials stated that, with the support of the Punjab Food Authority, further operations are ongoing in Islamabad and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A case has been registered on the complaint of the Islamabad Food Authority, and investigations are underway.

Food safety officials emphasized that strict action will continue against those endangering public health, especially during Ramadan. Citizens have been urged to report complaints or suspicious activities by calling the food safety helpline at 1223.
