UAE Announces Release of 3,296 Prisoners Ahead of Ramadan

The United Arab Emirates has announced the release of 3,296 prisoners ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, according to the state news agency.
As reported by Emirates News Agency, the decision aims to give inmates an opportunity to start a new chapter in their lives during the sacred month.
Authorities have approved the release of 1,856 prisoners from jails in Dubai alone.
In addition to granting their freedom, the UAE President will also cover the outstanding financial obligations of the released prisoners, enabling them to reintegrate into society without debt burdens.
The annual gesture is part of the country’s humanitarian initiatives traditionally observed during Ramadan.
