Journalists Criticize Indian Players for Not Shaking Hands with Pakistan Team

British and Indian journalists have strongly criticized Indian cricketers for refusing to shake hands with the Pakistan cricket team, calling the move against the spirit of the game.
Speaking on an Indian talk show, UK-based journalist and author Mihir Bose and Indian sports journalist Ayaz Memon termed the gesture inappropriate and contrary to sportsmanship.
Mihir Bose said that refusing to shake hands reflects poorly on a country that claims to be a rising global power aspiring to greatness and economic strength.
Ayaz Memon, on the other hand, suggested that such a decision could not have been taken independently by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), implying that it was likely influenced by the Indian government.
The incident has sparked debate on social media, with many emphasizing that cricket should remain separate from political tensions and uphold the values of mutual respect and fair play.
