Federal Government Announces Specialized Eye Treatment for Imran Khan

Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has announced that former prime minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, will receive further eye treatment at a specialized medical facility.
In a statement posted on X, the minister said that as part of the ongoing medical care, Imran Khan will undergo additional examination and treatment by eye specialists at a dedicated medical institution. He added that a detailed medical report will also be submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Tarar urged the public and media to avoid speculation, unfounded reports, and attempts to politicize the matter for personal interests.
Earlier, Imran Khan—currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail—was facilitated to speak with his sons via telephone. Jail authorities confirmed that the call was arranged in compliance with Supreme Court orders.
The development follows directives from the Supreme Court after reports submitted by the court-appointed “friend of the court” and Imran Khan’s counsel, Salman Safdar, regarding prison facilities and his health condition.
According to Salman Safdar’s report, Imran Khan has lost approximately 85 percent of vision in his right eye and expressed dissatisfaction over the medical facilities provided in jail. The friend of the court also noted that Imran Khan had voiced serious concerns about his eye condition and sought immediate access to specialist doctors.
