Teenage Girl Dies by Suicide in Orangi Town After Reported Family Dispute

Karachi: A ninth-grade student allegedly died by suicide in Orangi Town after reportedly being upset following a reprimand from her mother, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Pakistan Bazaar police station in Orangi Town Sector 11½ near Abdullah Bin Masjid. The body of the teenage girl was found at her home and shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. She was identified as 15-year-old Neha, daughter of Liaquat.
According to SHO Imam Bux Lashari, the student had reportedly been absent from school frequently, which had led to complaints. On Thursday night, her mother allegedly scolded her over school absences and not assisting with household chores. Later that night, after family members had gone to sleep, the girl allegedly hanged herself in the washroom.
Police said she was the youngest member of the family. After completing legal procedures, the body was handed over to her relatives. Authorities have initiated further investigation into the incident.
