Peshawar:Following the Supreme Court’s verdict on specific seats, 70 members of the assembly, including Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, have submitted their oaths of allegiance to rejoin the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Ali Amin Gandapur, who contested elections independently and did not join any party after winning, has now rejoined PTI. The members, including the Chief Minister, have submitted their oaths to the party.
Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam, speaking to Geo News, confirmed their return to PTI, stating that the Supreme Court’s decision clearly indicated that PTI is a political party entitled to specific seats. He added that Article 6 applies to those who did not contest elections according to the constitution.
It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court had ordered the allocation of specific seats for women and minorities to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf upon a request regarding seats related to the Sunni Ittehad Council.
