Abhishek Sharma Hospitalized Due to Stomach Infection, Namibia Match in Doubt

Indian cricket team opener Abhishek Sharma has been admitted to hospital after suffering from a stomach infection, raising concerns over his availability for the upcoming T20 World Cup match against Namibia.

According to Indian media reports, Sharma’s health began deteriorating before the match against the United States. Although he featured in the game, his condition reportedly worsened afterward.

The left-handed batter has been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi, where he was immediately put on IV drips due to a high fever. Doctors are conducting various medical tests to determine the exact nature and severity of the infection.

Abhishek Sharma also missed the team’s practice session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, further casting doubt on his participation in the Namibia fixture.

Reports suggest it remains unclear whether he will be discharged from the hospital today, making his inclusion in the playing XI uncertain.

In light of the situation, Washington Sundar has been added to the Indian squad as a replacement option.
