Cooking Oil Prices Surge by Rs 60 Per Liter, Reaching Rs 550

**Lahore (Qudrat Daily):** The price of cooking oil has jumped by **Rs 60 per liter**, reaching **Rs 550**, up from **Rs 490** just a week ago. This sharp increase in a basic household commodity is adding to the financial strain on ordinary citizens.
Shopkeepers said the price hike is due to **supply shortages and other factors**, and the sudden increase has heavily impacted household budgets, causing significant concern among consumers.
In addition to cooking oil, the price of **flour** has also risen, with a 5-kg bag now selling for **Rs 900** in the market.
Citizens and traders have appealed to the government for **immediate intervention**, urging authorities to activate **price control committees** to stabilize costs.
