PTI Demands Resignations and Transparent Investigation After Tragedy at Tarlai Imam Bargah in Islamabad

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the horrific terrorist attack at the Tarlai Imam Bargah in Islamabad. Initially, the party extended condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayers for the injured. According to media reports and the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, at least 31 people were killed and 169 worshippers injured in this brutal attack, marking a major national tragedy and a serious failure of the federal government.
The occurrence of such a terrorist incident in a sensitive city and the federal capital raises serious questions about the government’s security apparatus. Previously, in November 2025, an explosion outside Islamabad’s Sessions Court killed 12 people, yet no lessons appear to have been learned. PTI holds the federal government, Ministry of Interior, and Islamabad Police responsible for this incident. Although the current rulers lack a popular mandate, the protection of citizens’ lives and property is a fundamental duty of government institutions, and repeated failures are unacceptable.
PTI also criticized the diversion of governmental and law enforcement resources in recent days due to the opposition alliance “Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan” call for nationwide action on February 8, focusing on the arrest of PTI workers instead of public security. Such negligence, PTI claims, directly contributed to the tragic attack. The party further highlighted that during a visit by PTI leadership to PIMS Hospital to check on the wounded, Islamabad Police simultaneously raided the home of PTI leader Ali Bukhari, underscoring how political priorities undermined public safety.
PTI has demanded the immediate removal of the IG Islamabad from office and the resignation of the Federal Interior Minister. The party also called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the attack to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice according to the law.
