Mobile Internet Service to Be Restored in Quetta This Evening, Terrorist Attacks Foiled: Provincial Government

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan on Media Affairs Shahid Rind and Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, while addressing a press conference along with provincial ministers and members of the assembly, announced that mobile internet service in Quetta will be restored from this evening. They stated that terrorist attacks have been successfully foiled and that educational activities across the province will not be affected. Matriculation examinations and the polio vaccination campaign will continue as scheduled to ensure that students’ education and children’s health are not adversely impacted.

Providing details of the incidents that occurred on January 31, the officials said that armed militants had attempted to attack the Red Zone area. However, due to the presence of a large number of civilians, security forces faced difficulties in giving an immediate and effective response. Despite these challenges, the attack was successfully thwarted.

The authorities further informed that the Chief Minister of Balochistan will hold an important press conference in the coming days, during which further key announcements are expected. Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat stated that the health condition of the Superintendent of Noshki Jail is out of danger. He also confirmed that attacks were carried out on the Noshki and Mastung jails, resulting in the escape of some prisoners. Search and clearance operations are currently underway to apprehend the escapees.

Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said that all injured persons from the attacks carried out at approximately 12 locations across the province on January 31 have been provided with all available medical facilities and treatment.

Shahid Rind added that individuals involved in looting police stations and other locations have been identified and will be arrested soon. The authorities emphasized that the situation is fully under control and that continuous operations are being conducted to ensure complete restoration of law and order in the province. The public has been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
