Finance Minister Seeks Clarification from Election Commission on Funds for Local Government Polls

Islamabad: Finance Minister **Muhammad Aurangzeb** has sought clarification from the **Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)** regarding funds required for local government elections in **Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Islamabad**.

The issue was discussed during a meeting of the **Economic Coordination Committee (ECC)** of the Cabinet, chaired by the finance minister. During the meeting, the ECP was asked to provide further clarification on the allocation of funds for holding local government elections in the mentioned regions.

Muhammad Aurangzeb directed that the summary seeking **Rs 455 million** be resubmitted with complete details. The ECC also approved the provision of **customs-confiscated goods** to the **Gilgit-Baltistan government**.

In a separate meeting chaired by the finance minister, the **Export-Import (EXIM) Bank’s 2025 procurement policy** was also approved.
