Punjab Government Announces New Prices for Food Items Under Ramadan Package, Major Relief for Public

**Islamabad:** The Punjab government has finalized preparations to provide maximum relief to the public during Ramadan. An important meeting of the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Department was held, chaired by Special Assistant for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Salma Butt.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various measures under the **Ramadan Guardian Package** to support citizens. It was decided that a **10-kg bag of flour** will be sold for **PKR 850** at model, convenience, and special Ramadan markets.
Salma Butt stated that to ensure easy access to subsidized flour, each flour mill will establish **at least three sale points in its respective district**, where flour will be sold at fixed rates.
To provide further relief, the meeting also announced a **reduction in chicken prices by PKR 15 per kilogram** and **eggs by PKR 10 per dozen** in special Ramadan markets.
Under welfare initiatives, **1,216 “Maryam ka Dastarkhwan” centers** will be set up across **152 tehsils in Punjab**, providing free, high-quality meals to **250 people daily throughout the month**.
Salma Butt added that by **February 15**, all Ramadan model and convenience markets across Punjab will be fully operational, with market hours from **9:00 am to 5:00 pm** to facilitate public shopping.
She instructed all relevant officers to complete arrangements on time to ensure that citizens genuinely benefit from the Ramadan relief measures.
