Shahid Rand Congratulates Newly Elected Officials of Balochistan Union of Journalists, Highlights Role in Press Freedom

**Quetta:** Shahid Rand, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Political and Media Affairs, has extended heartfelt congratulations to all newly elected office-bearers of the Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ).

He specifically congratulated newly elected President Manzoor Ahmed, Senior Vice President Fareedullah, General Secretary Shah Hussain Tarin, Vice President Zafar Baloch, Finance Secretary Ismat Smalani, Senior Joint Secretary Kifayat Ali, and Joint Secretary Adnan Saeed, as well as the newly elected executive committee members: Raza Rehman, Saleem Shahid, Khalil Ahmed, Shehzada Zulfiqar, Arshad Butt, Murtaza Zahri, Muhammad Amir, and Mohibullah.

Shahid Rand emphasized that the BUJ has consistently played an effective and responsible role in upholding professional journalism standards, freedom of expression, and the rights of the journalist community in Balochistan. He noted that in democratic societies, a free and informed press serves as a bridge between the state and the public, and the provincial government is committed to fostering respectful and cooperative relations with journalists.

He expressed confidence that the newly elected BUJ leadership would continue to advance responsible, positive, and constructive journalism in the province, and reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing journalists’ legitimate concerns and safeguarding their rights.
