BCSW Chairperson Kiran Baloch Attends High-Level Conference in Indonesia on Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection

**Jakarta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Kiran Baloch, Chairperson of the Balochistan Commission on the Status of Women (BCSW), is participating in a study visit to Indonesia alongside a UN Women delegation.
On January 19, 2026, Chairperson Kiran Baloch led a high-level and productive meeting in Jakarta focused on women’s empowerment and child protection. The session brought together senior representatives from the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (MOWECP), the Ministry of Human Development and Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UN Women, and Wahid Foundation.

During the conference, participants engaged in detailed discussions on promoting gender equality, protecting children’s rights, and empowering women. They shared insights on current challenges, best practices, and policy strategies aimed at safeguarding women’s rights, enhancing child welfare, and fostering social inclusion.
Special emphasis was placed on strengthening international cooperation and partnerships among government institutions, international organizations, and civil society. Opportunities for joint projects, capacity-building programs, and knowledge exchange were explored to achieve sustainable and inclusive development goals.
Chairperson Kiran Baloch reiterated her commitment to advancing women’s rights and child welfare, highlighting the urgent need for coordinated national and international efforts. The conference concluded with all parties pledging to work collectively to create a safe, equitable, and empowering environment for women and children.
