BYD Launches Two New Electric SUVs in Pakistan, Announces Country’s First EV Charging Corridor

Karachi: In collaboration with China’s leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD, Mega Motor Company (MMC) has introduced two new electric sports utility vehicles (SUVs) in Pakistan and announced the establishment of the country’s first nationwide EV charging corridor.

The new models, BYD Sealion 7 and BYD Atto 2, were unveiled during a dealership launch event held in Lahore.

Speaking at the ceremony, BYD Pakistan Country Head Li Jian said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to aligning Pakistan’s automotive sector with cutting-edge global technology and innovation. He added that BYD is dedicated to providing Pakistani consumers with world-class electric vehicles.

BYD Pakistan MMC Vice President Sales and Strategy Danish Khaliq said that the future of mobility in Pakistan is bright, electric, and built on long-term sustainability. “We are pleased to play a key role in shaping Pakistan’s electric mobility ecosystem,” he said.

1,300-Kilometre EV Charging Corridor

To promote sustainable transportation, BYD MMC, in partnership with Hubco Green, announced the launch of Pakistan’s first nationwide New Energy Vehicle charging corridor. The corridor will span approximately 1,300 kilometres, extending from Karachi to Peshawar.

According to the company, the charging corridor will cover major cities and motorways, significantly improving EV accessibility and infrastructure across the country.

The initiative marks a major step toward accelerating electric vehicle adoption and reducing carbon emissions in Pakistan.
